Am I imagining things or did Mumsnet do a deal with kinder Hotels can anyone recall?

Has anyone been to a Kinder Hotel in Germany/Austria?

I got a brochure through an advert on mumsnet but it was all in German and I couldn't understand a thing. Some friends went skiing in Austria as part of a package and said it was great fun but there was very little English spoken in the kids activities. One child didn't mind and the other hated it.

Didn't see a deal.. I think Kinderhotels are great, but rarely see any English speaking folk .. mostly German, Swiss and Dutch.. V Good value for money but would go for a 5 star one as prices not alwys much more than lesser starred places.

The brochure is available in English, but not as complete as the GErman one. Some info is available about all kinderhotels in English on the website.

Thanks for your responses and I now agree with your comments, as we have just been to one in Austria! Very geared up for children and it's not quite so embarrasing in the restaurant if you have some troublesome moments at meal times. We had an all inclusive deal (alcholic drinks extra), but they even supplied an afternoon snack time - which was more like a full blown afternoon tea with a wide selection of bread and cakes, and of course healthy stuff.
Just a warning though to anyone who may consider this, that the activities, although are supervised by adults, when complete they just tend to return children and leave them unsupervised as happened with my 6 year old, fortunately I had arrived 10 mins early for collection, but there was no one in attendance! So just check incase we just had an exception. But after living in central Europe now for a year have found out that children here are far more independent!!!

Hi Big Sister,
We went to Sport Hotel Achensee, Achenkirch, which I would highly recommend depite the abandoned son issue - I will just double check beforehand in future.
Which one/s have you been to?

Went to Habachklause, which was great for the childcare for toddler and location but only satisfactory for everything else and the one in Unken which was absolutely fantastic for everything except the childcare (maybe not their fault of course but my baby´s stage!) Would go back to both though!
