Can anyone recommend a house swap agency/website?

Just that really, DH has come up with the bright idea of doing a houseswap for our summer hols. We live in Edinburgh so reckon it would be a popular destination, eg during the Festival. But where to start? Any advice?

We also live in Edinburgh and are members at www.homeexchange.com. It costs about £70 for a year's membership which keeps out the time wasters but is still a drop in the ocean compared to the savings you make on the holidays. Have a look here

We have had 8 fantastic exchanges over the last 5 years and are inundated with offers- the whole world wants to come to Edinburgh! You do need to be flexible around your dates though and most US people will already have made their plans for summer 2014 as they plan way in advance. The biggest issue we have is that many people want to come during the Festival and our kids are already back at school so we aren't free to swap. That said, we have come to realise that we can afford to be choosy and last year turned down over 100 offers before agreeing to the three weeks (near Barcelona with a pool) deal that we ended up with.
