packing tips please

I'm having one of those moments where I think my brain has been removed.
I'm supposed to be starting the packing ready for our extremely early departure friday morning to sunny Majorca, for 16 month old DD, 5 year old DS, DH and me.

Should I take a light weight blanket for DD in case she snoozes on the plane or at the air conditioned airport?
How many toys do i really need to take? Going to a Thomson Super families and intend to use the club and the creche.
Shall I take my black linen trousers or will they just look like a rag when i unpack and be too dark to wear anyway?
Will we all need cardigans?

or to sun it up, would someone like to come round and do my packing for me please?

TIA

roll rather than fold your linen trousers and hang them in the shower/bathroom when you get there the steam generally sorts them out. I think black clothes for evenings in hot weather with tan=very stylish! I always take a small blankie with me for the baby - but if you forget or if its cold they will have them on the plane.

Hate packing so I generally start a week before and ban everyone from wearing anything nice for days

I went on a school trip to Germany last week. On the last night apparently one of the girls paid her friend to do her packing for her! ROFL!

I'm going to Majorca in a few weeks and plan to take a few lighter cardi / zippy up top type things. TBH I think we have to leave home @ 2am so will probably need to wear one on the way!

I'd just take a couple of fave toys a few books & colouring stuff for my DD (who's 7 but took similar when she was 5 & under).

It's the folding I hate about packing (oh & the fact it takes 10x longer than you expect it to).

Have a good holiday

well it's all done now but I seriously want to try and find a course to teach me to do it better/easier/more efficiently. It has taken me pretty much all day which is pathetic.

At least we have decided to buy new beach towels for our next holiday (whenever that might be) so they can all be binned after this one and I'll have more room to make packing easier on the way home.

stuff socks into shoes

Take a pashmina in handbaggage - it can be rolled up to use as a pillow or used as a cover if the air con on the flight makes it cold. (If you are flying charter, chances are they won't have blankets or pillows on board!

MeAndMyBoy · 26/07/2006 12:24

Nice tip bettythebuilder I will doing that tonight thanks .

Have to admit we have packed and have too much space so stuff is rattling round - DH is now adding clothes to fill the gaps. lol
