Anybody know where there are any really good leisure type pools in the South East, the ones with slides, wave machine etc. Its dd's birthday soon and I'm trying to find one to take her, we are in Herts but wouldnt mind travelling up to an hour for one.

I remember going to Broxbourne Lido when I was a kid & it had a wave machine then. No idea if it still exists though.

Try a few Council websites - they usually have details of pools.

Basingstoke Aqua Drome is cheaper than Coral Reef & my kids prefer it. The flumes are longer and you go down (& up!!) on single or double inflatable rings. Also has rapids etc.

Next door is an ice-rink, bowling alley, cinema, MacDonalds, KFC etc etc.

here's Broxbourne Lido (which is indoors) - it says it still has a wave machine. The link is to Herts County Council website & lists all pools in the area. Click on each one for details.

Where are you by the way? I grew up in Potters Bar & London Colney

have you tried the pool (Aqua-something) at Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead...got everything you wished for plus lots of other activities (bowling etc) on site
