I fancy a weekend break, Aug bank holiday
Preferably accessible by train or plane from London
and suitable for toddler

There are loads of places accessible by plane. Depends what you want. What do you like - bit city, small town, culture, scenery, coast? Budget?

Coast or scenery would be good
Prepared to spend a reasonable amount but not more than the cost of a week's holiday somewhere

What about Barcelona, Valencia, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Naples? Lisbon would be a lot cheaper than Copenhagen but they are all lovely cities on the coast.

For something a bit more adventurous, you could try Rejkyavik - about a 3 hour flight.

Any of those take your fancy?

Would second Barcelona - loads to do and beaches nearby. Fab views nearby too.

Stockholm? We're having a fabulous summer and it's incredibly child friendly.
