have got to pop down to Andover tomorrow so was thinking of taking the kids in the afternoon - is it very busy at say 1ish onwards or am I better off finding something else to do?

Try avon heath country park. Not as exciting with regards to play stuff, but there is a great nature trail and all mine enjoy going. not far from moors valley and signposted off the dual carraigeway if you head to Poole.

If its a nice sunny day today I expect it will be quite busy. Such a big area though - it would still be a good day out.
DD1 went there today on her Rainbows trip. I was lucky enough to drop her off, leave her with her leaders and my friend picked her up for me later. Never got to see the park myself. Good job you didn't go today - you would have been invaded by girlguides!!!!!!

BTW if it's any help to you it costs £7 to park there for over four hours now . They have a new car park system now. You get a ticket on the way in and pay on your way out.

Not so pushchair friendly tho...altho with a three wheeler it is ok.

a bit bumpy is all, and there is a play park, just tiny compared to moors valley. Miniscule in fact.

how are your kiddies. Mine age from 3 - 12 and get on great there. The 6yr old even went there on his school trip and wanted to go back again the next day!

psychomum5 · 15/07/2006 21:32

meant to say how old are your kiddies

psychomum5 · 15/07/2006 21:32

hello sparkler

why you swollen?? have I missed something???

sparklerswollenbruisedandfedup · 15/07/2006 21:34

Hi Psycho - see my dvt scan thread. How are you feeling now?

foxinsocks · 15/07/2006 21:34

that's a fair bit for somewhere so far out (though compared to parking charges here (london), that's still reasonable)

am getting more put off so may just come back home or stop off at Frensham ponds on the way back

really fancy going down to the coast but I think the weather tomorrow is supposed to be really nice so that would probably be even worse than moors valley!

they are 5 and 4 so they would love it I think but I have long weeks of school holidays ahead (and it's my grandparents who I visit in Andover) so I could always put off going tomorrow and go sometime during the week in the holidays

foxinsocks · 15/07/2006 21:42

thanks for your help everyone. Hope you both feel better soon!

fox....moors vally is alway busy at the weekends, and hols unfortunately. either try avon heath (parking quite good there), or you could try the coast.

sparkler....not seen your thread, but DVT is painful, so hugs for that.

me??? finally took the plunge and am driving again (as of last week).
Leg still hurts, but am down on the painkillers....just twice a day now and only volterol and tramodol now. Saw a consultant on thurs about injuries and compensation....will take at least 12-18mths for my leg to heal(for that, altho as I am at least mendable!!). May need steriod jabs tho for the hip joint....not sure! Will get good compensation tho he says, so something good. and Holly will too, altho she is fixed and he said that is down to her being so pliable from ballet, so altho dancing expensive, does make for supple bouncable kiddies.
