Hoping to have 5 nights in Bali on our way home from Australia next year, can anyone recommend a good family resort on the beach?

If you want rustic Bali, have a look at Coral View villas in Lipah on the east coast (2hr transfer from airport), if you want something more touristy, Paneeda sea view in sanur is a nice place in a good location. Sanur is closer to the airport and about 40mins from ubud so you could do day trips there.

Stayed at the grand hyatt, Nusa Dua, a few years ago. Less than an hour from the airport, so good for a shorter stay. Really lovely resort and, although the Nusa Dua area is basically a tourist enclave, you can arrange relatively inexpensive trips to more authentic bits of Bali from the resort - say 90 minutes to Ubud, and so on...
