Where would you go on holiday in October?

I want somewhere hot (high 20s at least), vaguely touristy (no trekking through the jungle etc) but not like Magaluf/Falaraki/Laganas etc, stuff to do. And not really really expensive, maybe max £2000 for a week? So not uber tacky/touristy but not so siolated there are no restuarnts or bars for the evening. My fave place to go on holiday is Greece but its not warm enough in October and starting to shut down.

North Africa, Tenerife, Dubai, Caribbean.

Caribbean can still be unpredictable, but would second other ideas. Malta? We've had some great holidays in Europe at that time of year (Majorca, S Italy, Spain) but can't be guaranteed at that time.

We are looking at Tunisia with club med in October. I am told the weather is way better than Greece at that time of year.

Cyprus?

PollyLogos · 04/07/2006 20:26

Smurfgirl I think Crete would be fine in october and especially if it was the first two weeks. Also the tourist season is longer there as it is so much warmer than the rest of greece.

its much quieter than the rest of the costa del sol and not a high rise hotel or crowds of drunken chavs in sight.

loads of lovely restaurants, bars and shops.
