Theres a really good farm park just inland near Totnes thats worth visiting -it won't let me do a link but if you google Pennywell Farm it comes up. They do sheepdog demonstrations, have a Birds of Prey Centre, pet barns, loads of play areas, as well as all the usual animals etc.

Totnes is a lovely little town -great place to wander round (especially if you can persuade the in-laws to have your children for a while!!). Loads of great little shops full of slightly different clothes, gifts etc.(but as a lot of the shops are small they're not all easily accesible with buggy/pushchair especially if occupant has wandering hands and a tendancy to grab things off shelves - I speak from experience!!)

Whole town has quite a hippy slant to it so some scrummy cafes and coffee shops with delicious home-made cakes etc. There is a cafe with Family room that I found recommened on MN a while ago -will try and find name for you.
