Are they both worth the money or is one better than the other?

Gardens better than the castle!

It depends on what your children like to do. Alnwick castle has lots of Harry potter activities on but closes for the winter on 30th October. Alnwick garden is fabulous in the summer for water play and when they have special events but not sure what there will be to do at this time of year.

They're both great! If you pay for entry to the castle though, you get free entry for the full year.

Another vote for the gardens here. They are quite unique I think whereas there are lots of castles round that way (most of which are a lot cheaper to visit).

Off there next week so not sure if the gardens will have much to see or do? The castle has broomstick flying lessons.
