a nice B&B for my dh, he is working there all week and its too far to travel home, don't know the area.

Needs to be nice and clean but relatively cheap, preferably a place providing meals too.

Can anyone help ?

thanks

Only just seen this so may be to late..???
We live in Chorley. Can't think of any b&b except one thats attached to a local pub..The pub is the thatch and thistle and is in blackrod which is about 10 min drive from chorley centre. I'm not 100% that the t&t offers accomodation but i'm sure I hear on the grapevine that it did...???
How about a hotel..? Devere whites is about 15 minutes from chorley centre although prob around £80 for B&B..?

Found some in yell:
b&b

MIL lives in Adlington, near Chorley & is staying with us at the minute,so have asked her.She doesn't know anywhere, but there are a lot of pubs in Adlington & I'm sure that one of them must do b&b.
They are The Wagon & Horses,The Bear,The Spinners (2 pubs with this name.In Chorley there is The Eagle & Child, but can't remember any more offhand.HTH

thanks for the replies, he drove up yesterday and made good time, I think within the guidelines that his company say is OK, so they may not pay. He driven again today, so I think he will continue to commute.

small world !!!

Mirage · 05/07/2006 18:45

Small world indeed.I like going to Adlington & told dh that I'd be happy to move there when we got married, but he wanted to stay around here. The only thing dh misses are Greenhalgh's pies.He always stocks up when we visit.

We went to a wedding near there last year. Wre stayed at the Bayley Arms in Hurst Green, Whaley and the wedding was at Shireburn Arms in same village. I would reccommend either but the Bayley Arms was cheaper, can't remember how much though.

mirage lol at your dh's pie fetish..! Where do you live atm..? We are looking to move so you can buy our home ..!!! TBH we are thinking about taking it off the market as we are quite happy where we are. Nice village life and a lovely place all round.

We are in Leicestershire,in a tiny village.2 years ago I would have gladly moved, but not now,I'm used to living in the sticks now.

I still like Adlington though,we always walk along the canal when we are there & go to the marina.MIL lives near the cemetary so its not far.

You'd probably know dh's family, there are loads of them & they nearly all live within 2 miles of Adlington.
