Going on holiday to France tomorrow - we're driving so have space to take some toys.

What are the best things to take for dd who is going to be three in Oct? I've packed buckets, spade, paddling pool etc.

If you took anything that was really useful - I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!

We flew to france with ds4 and dd 2
we took
favourite bear

baby annabel!!! wish i'd taken her tiny folding pushchair too as this would have stopped her pushing the doll in her own pushchair. The passport control did look twice incase I was smugglng a real baby in!!

a few cars
sticker books
small balls

we bought small plastic water pistols out there spent ages squirting trees, paths and self in dd's case

crayola magic pens and paper

swim ring and arm bands she liked to pretend she was going to the beach even when she wasn't

A few story books

Other people on the site did have portable dvd players that the children sat around watching late in the evening - like a mini cinema.

hope that helps have a grat holiday

If it's a beach based holiday then it never fails for my ds to take his toy diggers (scoop and the like) to play on the beach with. He loves it and spends ages tipping the sand out to build hills etc

Take a selection of cheap plastic tea set items. At that age DD spent hours filling tea cups with water from her plastic teapot.
