Anyone flown with Easyjet recently?

I'm flying with them this weekend and I wondered how strict they are being with their new cabin baggage measurements? Did you manage to use a bag with the old measurements and keep it in the cabin with you?

Also, if i take one piece of luggage in the cabin with me (ie don't check it in), can I also have a handbag? Or does that count as my cabin bag?

Thanks greatly for any advice!

They look at size on check in and handbag counts am afraid.

I have always managed to keep my cabin bag with me, even in the old size but they do check it's within their allowed size. No separate handbag unfortunately but a bit of duty free bought after check in is ok.

They are v strict on size - I had to show that my bag fit within the new measurements including duty free

Thanks all, I had a suspicion that a handbag would count.

You might have to squeeze your handbag into the hand luggage! Not easy - and their new dimensions are SMALL. At the moment, if the cabin is full, they will put your hand luggage in the hold for no charge (just the "inconvenience" of waiting for it to unload) but I don't suppose it will be long before they do what I witnessed this summer with WizzAir (a budget airline that makes Easyjet look like a private jet), whereby a member of staff walked down the line at the boarding gate, telling people whose luggage had the slightly larger dimensions that they needed to cough up £30 ( I think it was) before they could board with it!
