FP is not fun when you need to try and please 8 people with the age ranges of 1-65, did my passes for Hollywood studios today Toy Story mania for everyone, Tower of terror for 4 of us, Starwars for 4 and Little mermaid for 2 Grin which still leaves me 2 spare fp to be used on the PIL tickets. Also because I chose Toy story it meant I couldn't fp Rocking roller coaster so we will need to go at a quiet time or do the single rider option.

MK tomorrow.....my head hurts already thinking what to fp for the best lol

My DH is already sick of hearing the words FP and even had the cheek to suggest we FP in the morning before we head to the parks Confused

BloodyDogHairs · 10/05/2015 18:06

I've decided my plan of action for MK is going to be....the 1st visit I will use the FP for rides everyone can ride then the next day use all the fp for the rides only the big DC's can do and if me and DH want to also ride then we'll use the childswap ticket. That gives 2 DC's plenty of Fp to do Space/splash/big mountain and whatever else always has huge wait times.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 11/05/2015 10:11

That sounds like a good plan for MK, Dog. And I def agree with you about prioritising Toy Story over RnR Coaster! You'll be able to get on that without too much of a queue. I'm going to be brave and try that this year. I've done it in Paris but never been brave enough to try it since!

BloodyDogHairs · 12/05/2015 08:49

Och well the 2 days I had planned at MK I never managed a FP for any parades or the minetrain, pity that as I would've liked the video that you get with the MM on that ride. I won't be standing the crazy wait times it tho.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 12/05/2015 15:48

What time did you try for Mine Train, Dog? That's a shame :( I reckon you could get on it without much of a wait at rope drop or as the park is closing.

BloodyDogHairs · 12/05/2015 16:09

Half 7 this morning Sad the annoying thing is when I logged in yesterday I could've FP it but chose to pick the rides we could ride as a family. At least today I got FP for Space/Splash/Thunder mountain and few other good ones.

BloodyDogHairs · 12/05/2015 16:12

My DH realised the Starwars weekends are at HS when we are there so looks like I'll be needing to FP whatever is available for that Grin I can imagine the weekend's will be heaving.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 12/05/2015 19:56

OH, SW Weekends are fabulous! We went last year! I've got to go now but will write about it tomorrow...

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 14/05/2015 10:53

Sorry, I didn't get time to come back about the SW weekends yesterday. We had SUCH a great time there. DS is a huge Star Wars nut and he had the time of his life, meeting all the characters. We wondered whether to go or not as it was very hot and we thought it was just be crazy-busy and we'd be queueing for hours to meet characters but I'm so glad we went as it wasn't at all like that. We didn't really do any rides other than Star Tours (you have to do that on SW Weekends!) and we did have a FP for it but it wasn't very busy at all and we rode it several times - I think we waited 20 minutes max without an FP. There were long queues for the 'classic' characters like R2D2, Luke & Leia, etc. but the queues were pretty short for the newer characters like Anakin, Darth Maul etc. 15 mins, maybe? Lots of characters were wandering about freely too, without many crowds around them. We got some fantastic photos and it was one of the best days of the holiday. There was a nice buzz to the place and several people doing cosplay. A good tip for the character queues is for adults to take it in turn queueing up whilst little ones wait in the shade and join the queue when it's almost their turn. Things also moved quicker when we managed to convince DS that he could just have his photo taken with the classic characters in the background and not actually meet them - this saved a whole load of queueing :)

BloodyDogHairs · 14/05/2015 14:01

Thanks it sounds good, I managed to get FP for 2 Starwars related things....I have no idea what they are but it was the only things left to chose from. I should get some great photos from the MM on that weekend.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 14/05/2015 14:40

I really wish we'd had MM when we went!

nikki1978 · 17/05/2015 20:04

We leave in the morning! Bit peed off as I woke up with a sore throat and tight chest this morning. Hey ho am gargling salt water madly so fingers crossed!

StrawberrytallCake · 17/05/2015 20:36

Good luck Nikki hope you feel better, don't forget to pack the Karvol, ibuprofen and lemsip. I'm currently suffering too.

Will you update us when you're there?

BloodyDogHairs · 17/05/2015 20:40

Have a fab time Nikki!! I hate to say it but the air conditioning will be a killer for your sore throat, defo stock up on the meds.

3 weeks today I'll be all ready for my flight in the morning Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 17/05/2015 20:51

Have a fab time, Nikki!!

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 18/05/2015 08:32

I need my happy place today! DD has gone off to school in tears, having a massive anxiety attack and DS is saying he feels really sick and he has his SATs this week. I had such a nice day planned and now I've no idea what's going to happen with them both, argh! Am going to try and get DS into school and then do a bit of Dibb-ing to cheer myself up :)

I wonder if Nikki is at the airport yet? How exciting!

StrawberrytallCake · 18/05/2015 09:52

Hope they're both ok Lucas good luck to DS with SATs, sounds like they need their holiday too.

I dibbed a lot yesterday, well I lurked. Interesting info about possibly being able to print off voucher for car hire rather than standing in that soul destroying queue after getting through security. Also trying to find info on how long the security queue's are after the BA morning flight, I know sometimes there can be a few flights arriving at once which can increase the time waiting, desperately trying to avoid that with 2yo.

BloodyDogHairs · 18/05/2015 10:11

Aw I hope their day gets better Sad it's horrible sending DC's to school when they are upset.

My plan of attack this year is to send DH to pick the car up while I wait for the cases/car seats/buggy lol. Last year was a disaster, it was the 1st time we had flew into Orlando International and by the time we got to the garage to choose our car there was no 8 seaters. Every worker kept saying "one will be here shortly" .....after standing for 30mins with a 6month old, 2yr old and 2 older shattered dc's DH told a worker to get us the manager. He arrived within 2 mins with a upgraded 8 seater.

This year I'm flying with Thomsons as they fly into Sanford, I couldn't face Orlando International again.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 18/05/2015 10:36

Strawberry I've also read on there about checking in for car hire online or at a machine there (though maybe that's the same thing as printing off a voucher). It also sounds good for not being hassled into buying upgrades!

That sounds hideous about your last car hire, Dog! We're hoping it will be quick this time as we're upstairs on the plane so we get let off first (after posh people :D) so we'll hopefully be on our way quickly.

StrawberrytallCake · 19/05/2015 19:17

We're the posh people!!!!! Only this once though. Does that mean we'll get through security quicker?

I'm very confused by it all Lucas but I'm going to get all the details over the next week for what needs to be done with the car. I don't know whether to take the children's car seats on the plane with us or hire some, it's around $300 for hire for the stay which seems a lot! Our car seats are isofix though so I'm not sure if isofix fit?

Any ideas on the best place to get 1 day universal tickets? eldest dd loves hop and I've found breakfast with hop characters and the minions I have to book it!!!!!

BloodyDogHairs · 19/05/2015 22:50

If you do reach security first DO NOT stop to use the toilets lol, we were 1st to reach immigration as we were sat by the plane exit doors but by the time we arsed around at the toilet we ended up near the very back of the queue Shock ....that's when it all went pear shaped.

It is alot to pay out for carseats, I took my own 2 last year and it was a total pain with all the luggage and hand luggage. If I had the spare cash I'd probably just hire to save my sanity Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 20/05/2015 08:11

Yes, you will definitely get through security quicker, Strawberry! Not sure how old your children are but if they're old enough I'd take a lightweight booster seat. I put one for DS in our hand luggage (it cost about a tenner and weighed next to nothing) and then just chucked it on the way home when we had less room. You can also buy inflatable ones.

Universal 1 day tickets - will you definitely not go to Islands of Adventure as well? If so then a 14 day ticket is actually cheaper than a 2 day one.

BloodyDogHairs · 22/05/2015 08:48

That's me finished doing my FP for the 2 weeks.....just hope my 2 week holiday doesn't fly in. For our last night I FP the mine train, the night parade and fireworks so it's going to be a emotional night leaving that behind Sad

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 22/05/2015 09:22

Aw, that will be a sad last night - I can't do Disney on our last day, it's too much for me :( Did you get a FP for Toy Story? I got a bit concerned when someone on the Dibb said they got up at 5am but still couldn't get one Shock I've never heard of that before! Did you get Mine Train without getting up at 5am, btw?

BloodyDogHairs · 22/05/2015 09:47

Got Toy Story, that's FP for our 2nd day. This was the first morning I've been able to get Mine Train it's a 6.40 time slot and I logged in at 9am.

I'm really chuffed with my fp selection's for all the parks.

The plan was to do HS on our last full day but I had to re-jig since DH discovered the Starwars event.
