I'm going to go super early so we can look around the resort its at, it looks lovely. I hope I love it too....for what it blinking cost haha.

StrawberryTallCake · 07/05/2015 20:56

I feel very responsible Grin Flowers Flowers Cake Wine

BloodyDogHairs · 07/05/2015 21:01

haha Grin

And mention your wedding renewal as much as you want, I love reading about others major events. That's why that date will stick in my mind now.....incase you thought I was being sarcastic Wine

StrawberryTallCake · 07/05/2015 21:09

No I didn't at all!!! I warn you I will post pictures too (not of any of us but possibly the cake and the synchronised swimmers!!)

I will be avidly reading your updates whilst you are away waiting for reports!! We've cleared it with the children's headmaster now too so I feel quite relieved and today we finished paying the flights off so now it's just spending money - bloody election has affected the exchange rate though so hoping it recovers if the outcome is favourable in some way??

BloodyDogHairs · 07/05/2015 21:17

I was actually going to suggest you posted pic's but didn't want to come over like a stalker!

I'm in Scotland so we don't have to worry about the school fining us just yet, I only go in June when the classes are starting to wind down for the summer.

I'm putting DH in charge of finding the best rate as I've sorted everything else.

notyummy · 07/05/2015 21:33

Hi- you sound like the sort of people to ask this question to!

How does the Disney fast pass thing work? We are going mid Aug and will be buying park tickets in early July. We aren't staying in a Disney hotel so I think we have a 30 day booking window? How quickly do things get booked up?

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 07/05/2015 23:48

Sorry to relaliate, ladies - this thread is my happy place Grin

Dog, my parents did the dolphin cruise and said it was lovely. We aren't really beach people but Clearwater does look gorgeous. The trip after this we're going for 3 weeks, so it would be much easier to fit in - but that's in August and I can't cope with the heat of a UK beach in August, let alone a Florida one! :)

Strawberry (Thanks), we haven't told the school about our Oct trip yet - I think we'll get away with the fine for one school but fairly sure we'll have to pay for the other. Hey ho, it's worth it :) Where are you renewing your vows?

Hi, NotYummy! Fastpasses are easy if you create yourself an account on My Disney Experience. You're right that you have 30 days but unless you want parades/fireworks, Anna & Elsa or Mine Train, then there's no need to panic about getting them on the dot. Aside from Mine Train & possibly Toy Story Mania, I've got eveything I've wanted the day before in most cases.

  • retaliate

Oh and I should add that some meals get booked up very quickly, NotYummy, so you'll want to book those at 180 days out if you have somewhere particular that you want to eat.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/05/2015 08:14

"Sorry to retaliate"??? You were the one telling me off and being condescending, calling me entitled and accusing me of pushing people.

I'm stepping away from your passive aggressive rubbish.

BloodyDogHairs · 08/05/2015 10:17

Notmummy....I'm on my 1st day of being to book fp, I've being looking on the app for every park and ride Grin to see what the situation is like and everything has a timeslot somewhere in the day.

I'll be travelling on the 8th june so I won't be actually booking fp for that date but at least I know how it works.

BloodyDogHairs · 08/05/2015 10:30

ok I take that back.....no elsa or anna slot, minetrain gone too and dare I say it but no fp for parade.

I also didn't realise that you had to choose either Soaring or Test track from Epcot Shock

Does anyone know if there is a single rider option on the minetrain?

HelloIAmBaymax · 08/05/2015 10:36

No single rider line for Mine Train, but they do call for singles to fill in all available seats.

StrawberryTallCake · 08/05/2015 11:43

We're renewing at our villa next to the pool at sunset Lucas Everything booked now apart from the cake but I am in love with the cakes you can get made in the supermarket there so just going to get one of those!

Oooh concerning on the fast pass front, I might be setting the alarm for Anna & Elsa. I've never been on test track, is that suitable for a 2yo?

StrawberryTallCake · 08/05/2015 11:44

Ah don't worry, just read no under 7s.

BloodyDogHairs · 08/05/2015 12:37

Publix or Walmart? I prefer Publix for cakes and fresh fruit, Walmart for everything else.

StrawberryTallCake · 08/05/2015 12:56

I'm trying to remember which was closest to where we stayed last time - hold on I'll just bother the husband at work Grin.

I think I've worked out that we stayed on Highlands Reserve last time and the closest supermarket was Publix, Walmart was a little way away so we mostly used Publix. I agree the cake was awesome, I spent most of the time eating the icing (please forgive me I was pregnant and it was my birthday).

So the exchange rate has gone up if anyone was waiting to get currency.

I'm a bit annoyed now we've paid out flights off we have to pay extra with BA to ensure we're sitting together??! I'm not sure whether to or not!

BloodyDogHairs · 08/05/2015 13:41

We stayed at Highlands reserve way back in 2009 I think.

Seats.....I've never pre-booked and have always been seated as a family, even when we were last to check-in one year as I had forgotten my drivers licence so had a mad dash back to the house! But threads on here and fb groups worry me as they do split up families. If I check-in 7 days before hand and find out we are split then I will phone up and pay whatever the amount is to at least have 1 row of 3.....there is no way I'm being lumbered with a 1 & 3 yr old while the rest I'm travelling with sit themselves in perfect peace Grin

BloodyDogHairs · 08/05/2015 18:50

Argh this fp business is annoying the hell out of me.......so I booked FP for 4 of us for Toy story, TOT and starwars. I then booked toy story, starwars and little mermaid for another 2 but the times didn't match up for the rides we'd do together. Should I be doing a group booking for the same rides then changing individual people to the different one?

I'm not booking just yet, this is a trial run and it's not as exciting as I thought it was going to be Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 08/05/2015 21:35

It is an annoying process when you need to book different rides. There are a few ways round it but what I do is how you mentioned - put everyone in for one ride and then change the individuals. I also don't like how MDE selects random times for you and you then alter as necessary - I'd prefer it to tell you the available times and you select which ones you want.

What gets really confusing is when my parents don't go to a park one day so we use their FP allocation. We then have a list of FPs for ourselves and FPs for us as them. Make my brain ache :)

LOL at it not being as exciting as you thought - I practically wet myself with excitement at booking FPs Grin

I wrote to Mr-In-Charge-of-Disney a while back, to complain about something re. annual passholders, like wot I am. Well, a lovely young man from WDW called me today to say that they were really sorry and they'd sort out free magic bands for us all! Their customer service is ace.

BloodyDogHairs · 08/05/2015 21:59

Maybe the excitement will pick up once I'm booking for real and not just playing around with options Grin I'm going to write all my fp selections down aswell so it's easier to have a quick glance at.

Great about the magic bands! they really are top notch for customer service over there.....I wonder if you'll be allowed to chose the more fancier one's.

notyummy · 08/05/2015 23:05

Thanks all! Dd is 9 and over the Frozen thing so I won't need to set the FP alarm for Anna and Elsa thankfully. I will chat to her about the parades to see what she thinks. She has seen the euro Disney one so she has an idea what they are like.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 09/05/2015 11:10

Dog, I should've asked him if he could get me into BoG as well Grin

Yummy, I think you need to see the parade once in a holiday but no need to see it again. My DD isn't into Frozen anymore either but I am! Has anyone been to the Frozen Summer Fun thing they do? I'm hoping it will be on again when we go next summer.

StrawberryTallCake · 09/05/2015 23:32

I feel your pain Lucas! I'm very into Tangled and both dds are off it now. I even get eye rolls if I suggest watching it or put the music on, stems from me pretending to be Mother Gothel and singing Mother knows best very loudly.

BloodyDogHairs · 10/05/2015 13:40

I've been putting on disney movies for my 1 & 3 yr old.....every single movie all I hear from the 3 yr old is "I want to watch Mickey mouse". Last night we watched Big hero as the characters are at MGM, tonight I'm putting on It's a bug life Grin

StrawberrytallCake · 10/05/2015 14:53

Dcs will be so happy Big Hero characters are there!! I haven't seen it yet but the reviews from them have been very good.

In our house we call it 'disneying them up' Grin

Any more FP news?
