Cheap hotel with family rooms near Calais?

I'm planning a budget weekend trip to Bruges before Christmas.

We will be staying overnight in Folkestone to catch the early tunnel crossing on Saturday morning. After a day in Bruges, we'll be driving back to overnight in Calais before catching the tunnel back Sunday after lunch (after a visit to Carrefour at Cite Europe).

Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel in Calais or thereabouts please for 2+2? Happy to consider 2 connecting rooms if the price is low enough as DC are 12 & 9. Hotels in Bruges are around £150 a night and we'd only be leaving after breakfast anyway so thought we'd save some money staying in Calais instead.

Any ideas please? Thanks.

Look at the hotel bb chain. They're similar to travelodge and do rooms for 4. There's usually some kind of chain restaurant near by and free wifi.

We use them quite a bit, like travelodge the quality depends on the age of the building. I've never had an unpleasant stay.

We stayed at a Suite Hotel next to Citie Europe a few years ago.

It was one big room but with a sliding blind/screen to divide the room in two.

It had a microwave, kettle, tiny fridge etc a desk that converted to a dining table etc.

It was great and IIRC around £80 per night.

I'll have a google and see if I can find it

I think it was the Suite Novotel Calais Coquelles Tunnel sous la Manche, here
