Summer 2014 - Villa with pool in Greece or Italy without selling a kidney?

Just that really, would prefer somewhere near a quietish resort/harbour, 2 bedrooms min (for 4) and flights from NW airports.
Had found perfect one but it was booked yesterday whilst I was checking it was really the right one
Where am I not checking?

whats your budget? where can you fly to? Presumably you've been looking on owners direct and holidaylettings? some greek islands are a lot more expensive than others, and italy i've always struggled to find somewhere thats a decent price within walking distance of civilisation.

We'd wanted Sardinia ideally but couldn't find flights from NW, Jet2 fly from Manchester so now the discussions around DH's idea of holiday budget and my idea of holiday budget commence
Also like the look of Paxos/Anti Paxos and Alonissos Greekwise.
