Is it going to be a nightmare? I'm tempted to book it but it seems like a very long day & an awful lot of money. DS would LOVE it, I'm sure but I'm hesitating. We can't go for a longer trip & he's 8 so I think this may be his last year believing...

DH has done it with each of our DC when they were about 4 or 5 and they loved it. Pick your tour company carefully, though, as they vary hugely.

Went a long time ago when DD was eight. Honestly? It was wonderful. It was a long day and it did cost a lot, but we did so much: snowmobiling along a frozen river, husky dog sledding, reindeer sleigh rides, listening to stories in a candlelit tent, and of course walking through the forest looking for the man himself. It was magical for me, never mind her Grin Whilst it was tiring, it was so much fun at the time that we didnt feel tired until we got hom.

Do take the chance if you can...

Oh, I want to do it now! Thank you!

There's only one company that goes from my local airport & given the long day, I'd rather not have to fly from London. I don't know how to check their credentials.

Who is it? Canterbury travel have a good reputation AFAIK. Check TripAdvisor for reviews.

Santa Claus Trips

Will check Trip advisor, thank you

Anyone else?

We went with Transun, it was very well organised and included all the thermal kit. As our flight was delayed by an hour going out, they changed the flight back to an hour later to ensure we didnt miss out on anything, that was a definite plus. I got the impression that our trip was less commercialised than others; the allocated time in the Arctic (shopping) village was very short for example.

Do tell us whether you book and all the details. Will be vair jealous.

Thank you. I've looked at loads of sites and they all seem more or less the same. I think I'll book - I just wish it was with a company someone had mentioned!
