Mumsnet, use thine powers to help me find a place to stay!
DH is booking a long weekend in October, after working ridiculously long hours in past few weeks. We just want a break from routine and the chance to recharge our batteries. We also have a 3 month old DS coming with us, so we don't want to travel more than 2-3 hours from our home (west midlands).

Any ideas? City of country works, as long as we can do something in the daytime. We are on a tight budget, unfortunately.

its worth checking out the last minute sites like late rooms for hotels or lastminute-cottages for self catering. personally with a really small baby like yours we preferred self catering - worried about watching tv whilst LO trying to sleep and all being in the same room or LO having a crying fit at 1am. we stay in a place in cornwall a lot it is about 4 hours from Birmingham I think so might be a bit far Here also what about a city break. Bath is really nice or Cardiff. suggest you try and avoid the half term weekends as it tends to be more expensive then.
