Just a heads-up - I have long since dreaded taking my kids on long car journeys, but I have found this website - www.roadtripradar.com - which helps you to find places to stop along your route, chosen by you. Hope this helps!

That great. I usually sit googling on my phone to find somewhere to stop while DH drives! Will have to remember that site.

We used to find National Trust places quite good.
