Barcelona - with young children? Accommodation/things to do

We are thinking of going to Spain with the DCs but not for a beach break, just for a few days, change of scenery and language/culture.

Barcelona currently top of our list as there is a chance of seeing the sun in Christmas/Feb/Easter holidays. We've been there before but pre-DCs and only for a couple of days.

Do you have any recommendations for things to do and places to stay with young children please? DC1 is 5yo, DC2 is 2yo.

TIA Thanks

Parc guell is lovely with the gingerbread house at the gates. And the long bench. Zoo?

have booked an apartment but looked at loads. pm and I can send you details. found ones that were around £80 - £100 a night with small kids aiming to be more at the top end of Barri Gotic rather than in the thick of it. placa de catlunya and the streets there. cable cars will be great fun. we are using the lonely planet guide which seems to cover most things. not sure it will be that good weather at feb half term though and easter gets pretty rammed. the beach area has really been done up.
