DH and I are hoping to go away for 3 nights in November but we can't make figure out where to go! Any recommendations, please?

we love going to Bath. stay in a little Travelodge place about 10 minutes walk from town. book the spa for a day and enjoy the roof top open air pool (much more enjoyable in the winter!!) and have tea at the pump house. there is a brilliant indian restaurant opposite the hotel too and loads of places to eat. great place just to wander around in and you can do day trips out too. bath spa is a nice up market hotel if you want to spend more on your accomm.

In the UK or abroad?

justanuthermanicmumsday · 23/08/2013 14:46

Yes Edinburgh. I visited once Xmas time fell in love with the place live here now. The people are really friendly and it's a beautiful place come over!

How far do you want to travel? From where?

I was also going to suggest Bath, Oxford or Cambridge.

Thanks for the suggestions! We are travelling from London and are happy to do UK or Europe

Places I have been to for a 3 night stay and really particularly enjoyed are:

Edinburgh, Dublin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, Lisbon, Prague (actually we were there for 5 days ... plenty to see and do), Montpelier.

If I had the chance to go on a city break now I would choose Berlin, Munich or Budapest, but I have never been to these cities so couldn't actually recommend them. I just really want to go ...

I'd go to Barcelona at that time of year as it should be mild weather. Many European destinations have warmer summers but colder autumns/winters - Paris, Berlin etc come to mind.

Barcelona, Prague, Budapest, Amsterdam. In that order, are my favourites.

I loved Dubrovnik for a summer holiday, but it'll still be mild at that time of year and there's not THAT much to do that you need a whole week!

It's bloody gorgeous.

I would love to go to Barcelona, Bruge, Amsterdam.

Oh, and we did a weekend in Berlin a couple of years ago. Loads of interesting things to see and do.
