5 year old to Paris not Disneyland Paris

DS having first trip to Paris. Although we have a bit planned these are all based on our fave things to do in Paris and it has been a few years since we last went ....

So if there are new excellent things to do/see or you have been recently with children pls advise what was great or not. ALso any great restaurant/food finds ?

we went this summer, kids 6&7.
the louvre was awful - all queues, kids not that impressed by medieval paintings (but you can buy tickets from ticket outlets other than the louvre so avoids the biggest queue), but we loved the eiffel tower and the batobus (unlimited travelling between stops, well worth it, consider the offer with the opentop bus as well) and mine loved sampling different ice cream shops - berthillion, amorino - and the little shops in the ile st dennis selling wooden toys, funky plastic tat etc.
i would go to the pompidou centre for art, and they have a kids play area.
the kids loved the jardin de tuillieres as well. there was a company doing guided tours in a 2cv, but since we were 5 we couldn't fit in.

Ours love paris, they have been 4-5 times ( they are 7 & 9) the magic museum is good, ( musee de la magie) and the open top bus and boat rides are always good too. Ile de la cite is pretty and has some great ice cream. The museum of arts and sciences was fun too, some impressive old planes/cars as well as a wide mix of other exhibits including the original foucalts pendulum.
