My DH and I are looking to go away next Feb/March time by which time our DS will be 18 months.

Living in the UK we do not wish to fly too far, probably 3 hours maximum and are looking for a bit of sun but not too hot, early to mid 20's will do us nicely.

We are becoming under the impression that opting for a family hotel may not be the way forward as I would guess he would be too young for most of the facilities, we would like something quiet ish but where our son wouldn't be frowned upon for being a noisy little one! I don't want to be ruining an adults only environment for example but would like an adult/peaceful style place.

So heere's what we're looking for, if anyone can recommend anything then we'd really appreciate it!

  • Max. 3 hours flying time from UK, preferably Manchester or East Mids
  • 20-25 degrees ish (so not baking!)
  • Friendly staff
  • Decent food
  • Close/Next to beach
  • Walking distance to shops/restaurants etc for things to see

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Hi.

I don't think you will be able to fly anywhere in 3 hours where the temps will be that warm in Feb/March tbh.

I would have suggested Canary Islands - the weather isn't guaranteed to be warm in Feb (we have gone every Feb for the past 6 or 7 years with varied weathers). Your flight time will be 4 hours ish though.

the first holiday I (well, me and XP) took Ds on was to Costa Del Sol. He was 17 months old - so similar to you. We went early May and the temperature was just nice for us. Warm enough to be out sunbathing but not ridiculously hot.

It won't be as warm as that in Feb/ march though.

If you can bear to fly for 4 hours- try Lanzarote(Playa Blanca) or Fuerteventura. I find that they are the quieter, more family orientated places to stay.

My DS is no w 15, so I can't comment on young DC appropriateness but if you check out Trip Advisor once you have chosen your destination you will be able to get suitable advice.

Try and avoid the school half term in Feb - prices rocket then! And check when Easter is too.
