New York - would you do it with a 8 year old?

really fancy doing NY but we would have to take our DS age 8, would this be too boring for him, is there enough to do etc...

also how long would you go for some deals are for 3 nights but I wouldn't of thought that would be enough due to jetlag etc

Definitely YES! We took ours at that age and they just loved seeing skyscrapers, yellow cabs, Grand Central station, the dinosaurs at the National History museum, the Sony lab Central park etc etc. If they have ever seen movies set in New York - Stuart Little, Night at the Museum, etc they will love it. We took a boat trip around Manhatten and saw the statue of Liberty, went up the Rockerfeller centre to see the view over the city , browsed in the posh shops on 5th Avenue and don't forget the M&Ms store at Times Square- amazing!

Yes! Our then 9 year old loved it! Loads of museums and sights suitable plus great restaurants and parks. We did a week and it was our best ever holiday ( with all 3 kids) could have stayed another week very happily.

Oh yes. Definitely yes. New York at any age.

Don't forget the High Line garden over the city!

Went with 7 & 9 last year obv Empire State, Central Park zoo, Bronx zoo, fao Schwartz, Dylan's candy bar, stardust diner, we did a duck tour in Boston they're good if ny does them, moma, Guggenheim et al, a proper 3" thick sandwich diner, chinatown & little italy we sent time visiting friends in Williamsburg too which was canny too
