Travelling from macro polo airport to Venice -can anyone help?

I'm travelling from Marco Polo airport to cannaregio region. I know I need to get the shuttle bus and then the water bus to our hotel.

Do I need to book Tickets for the shuttle bus and the water bus in advance?
Has anyone done this journey recently?

We went a few years ago and didn't book anything in advance. You definitely won't need to book the water bus. We just followed the crowd to the bus stop at the airport, it's quite straightforward once you are there.

Have a wonderful time, I adore Venice! I would suggest visiting the fish market one morning, it's a fab thing to do.

You don't need to book. Actually you don't need a water bus either - you can take a regular taxi or a bus!
We did a water taxi which is expensive being more private than the water bus. It was pretty quick and good fun although we didn't see much as it was night. I wouldn't bother again and did the return on a water bus which is similar to a small ferry type boat.
