Holioday in France advice needed on availability of baby things

We're flying to France (near Bordeaux) for a family get together for a week at the end of July. Me and dh haven't been abroad in years, dd will be 14mths. We're trying to cut down what we take as we're flying but dd has some things she needs! Can you get Huggies nappies in France - they're the only ones that won't leak through the night, can you get weetabix/Ready brek or their equivalent, can you get little pots of pureed fruit as she loves these and they are handy when we're out and about? Is there anything else I should be aware of when holidaying with dd in France? We're looking forward to it, but a bit worried!

The big supermarkets sell almost everything, but not sure about Huggies specifically. You can get all sorts of baby cereals and the French love those pots of pomme puree.
I would take enough Huggies for the night-time and risk another brand during the day if you want to cut down on bulky luggage. Having said that, I always love the extra luggage space at the end of the holiday, when you have used up all the nappies!

Am pretty sure they do have huggies, as i use pampers and couldn't find them! Just make sure you know the weight in KGs as packaging only has KGs on.

yes, loads of baby food - as with anything "specialist" in france you'd need to go to bigger supermarkets

Thanks for that, I could just take nappies for night time, or like you say have the spare room at the end of the holiday (useful for pressies and cute french clothes that I might buy dd!), at least nappies don't weigh much! Its useful to know to go to a big supermarket, we're staying about an hour from Bordeuax in a rural area so I'll stock up at a supermarket in Bordeaux when we arrive.
