Booking through Hotels.com - a good idea?

I am thinking of booking a hotel for a short break in Paris using Hotels.com. It's years (as in pre-universal internet!!) since I booked a foreign holiday that wasn't a full package and I'm worried about getting something wrong through ignorance and being ripped off. If you have booked through Hotels.com, did you get what you were expecting? Were there any nasty surprises in the small print? TIA

No they are fine. I do prefer booking.com because they have by far much better ways of refining your search. You can put in your requirements - dates, number of people etc and then fine tune to include pools, wi fi or whatever (or not ifyou don't care). You can search hotels by price, stars or on a map which really is handy for city breaks.
Most places have similar prices but these sites are often cheaper than the hotels official rate.

I always use booking.com and have never had a problem.

If you are booking for France, the Accor hotels website is worth a look too.

I like booking.com, I like that they include taxes and fees in the headline price. Never had any problem with them at all.
