Are there any London hotel bargains around for a family of 5?

Because of my dh`s health we haven't been able to book a holiday and all feel in need of a break. Thinking of going to London for two nights, probably all we can afford! Rooms for 5 are few and far between and 2 rooms seem to be costing the earth, even the likes of Premier Inn. Any ideas please?

We booked an apartment from housetrip, worked out cheaper than 2 travelodge rooms and meant we had kitchen and lounge too so saved money on not having to eat every meal out

Thats funny I have just found that website, coming up pretty expensive though for something decent/central.

How about www.airbnb.co.uk/s/London--United-Kingdom

We went Easter time which is cheaper than August,me stayed in canary wharf right by a dlr station so really easy to get into central london

What sort of price are you looking for? When we go to London we also book an apartment. We use Trip Advisor (the one we stay at is too small for 5 people, otherwise would recommend it). The only thing to watch with apartments is finding one without a minimum of three nights- can be tricky.

£200-£250 a night if at all poss

OK, I don't know about hotels but if you were willing to go down the apartment route (I prefer it- much more space!), you should definitely be able to get something that price range. This is where we stay: www.tripadvisor.co.uk/VacationRentalReview-g186338-d1646791-TrinitySquare_Flat_Named_2012_Top_Vacation_Rental-London_England.html#rateDetails

As I mentioned, it really only sleeps 4 (and has a min of 3 nights) so not really suitable for you, but we paid £140 per night in October and it's ideally located right next to the Tower of London and a tube/central bus stop- just to give you an idea of prices. You should be able to get something bigger within your budget- we usually use Trip Advisor but there's sites like VBRO and others as well.

Looking at that link shows several places for 5 people within a reasonable distance and price :)

triplets · 13/08/2013 21:58

Thanks for the link...........a lot of the apts want a min of 3 nights, can only afford 2. Also most seem to have double beds, we need singles. Have e-mailed a couple though who only show 2 night availability left, fingers x`d!

Would you consider university accommodation? You might need a couple of rooms to fit 5 of you but they are usually cheap (about £60 a night), central and clean.
Have a look here...

Have you looked at Think apartments. They have a few locations east and west.
