Medicines for holiday tummy!

We're off to Tunisia next week, and I was wondering what over the counter medicines people would recommend to take with us? I know all the advice about not drinking the local water, food hygiene etc, but just in case we're unlucky enough to be struck down with the trots, what medicines should I pack?

Immodium and Dioralyte

And probiotics

Yes to Dioralyte sachets for rehydration. We find Immodium Instants very good; they are a little gel-like thing that you just dissolve on your tongue, so easy to take rather than trying to swallow a tablet/capsule if you feel sick as well. They don't have the unfortunate effect of making you constipated afterwards either! Yogurt is good to eat when the diarrhoea stops, as it will provide 'good' bacteria to re-colonise the gut.

I can't comment on childrens medications, but a pharmacist at a chemist's should be able to advise you.

In Egypt they said don't take Imodium but go to the local chemist if you get poorly and get their local stuff. Imodium keeps the bugs in and makes it last longer apparently. Hmm

Not sure but we got over the counter stuff for dd, think it was antibiotics and it worked fast.
