We've been to Zarauz in the basque country and it's lovely, but not much chance of getting to Morocco easily from there!

Green Spain is supposed to be nice, around Santander, wine regions etc

You're not going to get nice calm Med, unspoilt, and close to Morocco, beety! The mainland near Gibraltar is hideous. Where do ferries go from?
