Camper van rental dangerous, advice sought

We recently returned from holiday our holiday in a rented camper van. The holiday was great, but the rental was awful. My main concerns were that the van just wasn't fit for rental - the speedo was broken, the handbrake didn't work properly and it constantly over heated. There were a load if other things too, but these were the main safety ones. I have complained to the company, but I'm just getting glib, sweep under the carpet replies.

I'm worried that they are still renting out the van and that it only a matter of time before something serious happens.

What can I do? I know that a broken speedo is an mot fail - would the dvla be interested? Is there any other authority I can approach?

Thanks

I take it this was in the UK - Trading Standards in the area the van's based in might be interested?

I think you should have done more immediately, rather than making do with a dangerous vehicle (what were you thinking?!).

You should contact Trading Standards immediately and badmouth the rental company on every review site you can think of

Thanks for your replies.i have now been in touch with trading standards, so hopefully some good will come of it all.
