Amsterdam - best hotels for a couple of nights without DS

Ok I'm probably mad but we are going to Amsterdam for an uber short break, out on Thursday night, back on Sat morning ( could be worse I once went for a day trip with my friend for our 30th).

Any recommendations for nice, very central places to stay, hopefully not too ££.

You're not as mad as me then - me and dh are going for a very short break for his 30th in November (we arrive 9.15am on the sat morn and return at 20.55pm on the sun eve).the flights were mega cheap from our local airport and we have a hotel for £125 for one night with breakfast included (hotel Rokin).We have been twice before in our teens and we stayed at the Diane hotel once but can't remember the other hotel we stayed at.We could have gone for 2 nights but the kids are still quite young and we only left them (with inlaws) for first time overnight this weekend just gone and not ready to leave them for too long yet!

Ha ha, bizarrely you will have longer there than we will as at least you have two full days. We have gone for a place called the American Eden it looks quite well placed.
