sunscreen - How much to use?

Going to Greece for 2 weeks.
Family of three(2 adults 1 child of 11).
How much sunscreen do we need?
Already have 6 bottles of 150ml each.
I suspect we will need more.
Am I underestimating the amount we need?
Many thanks.

Hope not - we're not taking that many for 5 of us. (Well, not sure how big 150ml is), but you won't use more than 2 bottles each, surely ?

We use a bottle per person, per week approx.

So yes 3 people, 2 weeks = 6 bottles

Although 150ml is smaller than avergae. For example a bottle of suncream I have in hand ATM is 200ml and says one bottle contains approx 6 applications for average size person

It depends what you do and what you wear.

If you spend the whole day in swimsuits with lots of skin to cover you need a lot. We normally were more sightseeing, so wore shirts and shorts. So only arms and legs to cover. If we were in swimsuits 3 hours a day, that was a lot.

we used loads for 2 adults and 2 kids - had at least 8x200mls plus 2x400mls and I ended up buying a 200ml bottle while we were there. A 200mls was lasting approx 2-3 days for an adult (we were in swimwear most of the time)

not peak sun now but still pretty damn strong. 11 year old should be in boardshorts and rash vests when in the water and on the beach. That means less skin to cover.

you should also not be deliberately sunbathing of course, and a rash vest is a good idea for everyone when swimming. Anyway, with that and a hat it's about a bottle a week each of factor 30 for the beach.

apply every couple of hours.
