Any recommendations for quiet European location with a good beach for sandcastle building

That's is really. Looking to have a week away with DH and our 2.5yo DD. went to Pembrookshire in June (stayed in a static caravan) and DH and DD spent days on the beach making sandcastles. Looking for much of the same, but with warmth and sunshine and less chance of rain. Can anyone recommend somewhere that isn't too costly, is very quiet and has the sort of beach that will keep my two sand engineers happy for the week?

Have you had a look at Portugal?
Some lovely beaches there and quite relaxing.

Went to Albufeira in October a couple of years ago. Lovely, not too busy and weather still a warm 24 degrees.

How about a static caravan in France? We're currently looking at a late August break with Siblu - if you search for Siblu on here there should be plenty of info.

Burgau, Portugal
Fuzetta, Portugal
Travira, and then go to the big sandbar beach every day?

Alvor in Portugal has a perfect beach.

Assuming you will be avoiding school hols, \link{http://www.nerjatoday.com/\Nerja} is lovely (Costa del Sol but a long way East)

Loads of cheap flights to Malaga, & cheap car hire too

Thanks everyone, currently looking at Portugal for late Sept / early Oct.

The costa del azahar in Spain is lovely and quiet, in between Valencia and Barcelona. Galician beaches tend to be beautiful but the weather is more changeable.

I would double check the weather for Portugal at that time of year - the beaches are Atlantic & it could be a lot cooler, with much rougher seas, than Spain

Agree with Ponders. The sea is cold in August and rough all year round which is why it's good for surfing. October could be nice but is risky.

We loved Menorca when our kids were small. Son Bou is very family friendly, and the beach there is just stunning.
