London eye tickets

We are of to London in a couple of weeks and the kids are desperate to go on the London eye. I've been looking on the website at ticket prices and am quite confused. You can have a standard ticket, or flexi tickets or fully flexi tickets or fast track tickets. There just seem to be so many options. Am I understanding the system correctly that by purchasing a more expensive ticket (a fast track one) I am not going to have to queue for as long. Is it worth doing that with three children in tow. Do the queues tend to be quite excessively long? I'm thinking it may be worth the extra cash to prevent bored children...

Queues are huge. I'd recommend a fast track ticket - but you'd have to be able to pitch up at the precise time.
IMO, the Eye is over rated. It's very slow, and the same view from different heights for 30+ mins (obvs!)
Our kids were fed up after about 10 mins.

Get a fast track, the queue in the summer Hols is ridiculous.

Queues are a nightmare, I think we spent about 2 hours queuing even though we'd booked an online ticket - and that wasn't in the holidays. It's also madly chaotic and easy to stand in the wrong line and waste even more time. Our problem was it came as a package with the London Dungeon and we could book a time for the Dungeon but not the Eye.

After the trauma of queuing almost all day on Saturday, we walked past on Sunday morning and it was dead, no queue at all! Maybe just try getting there for when it opens on Sunday?
