Small child-friendly hotels?

Hello all, looking for very small child friendly hotels/restaurants with rooms to go to with a small group of friends on various dates.

We'd like to be able to take over the whole hotel... and ideally would be like being in a house - so that kids could go to bed and from the lounge or dining room we'd be able to see the doors to the bedrooms (or, if we were the only people there, the only staircase). If that makes sense. Like sitting downstairs in your own home, but having a restaurant.

Such a thing may not exist - in which case we are also considering the biggish cottage option. But again ideally we'd like a large central hub and then bedrooms off of it - any places you've stayed do this?

Uber expensive, but Ickworth House has a "Cottage" on the grounds that's huge and massive rooms with gardens all around it. We stayed a while back and it was great for the kids.

have a look at groupaccommodation.com and bigholidayhouse.com websites. lots of choice on here of the kind of places you are looking for. also know of groups of cottages which might be a better option even if you know each other really well. inevitably there are parenting differences within a group of friends and when you are all together in one house this can ime get v.v. stressful. once went away like this with friends who had no problem with their toddler staying up all evening when ours (and everyone elses) were in bed. hmmm never again!
