Code sharing

Can anyone advise how you know before you book your flight if it will be a code share? Just got to the airport expecting to be on emirates A380 and appear to be on a Quantas not A380 (yep I know they tied up recently) but I wouldn't have chosen this flight if I had known.

You need to check on the 'flight details' section of the booking website when you're choosing flights - click on the flight number and it will show you operator, aircraft, flight time etc.

Most sectors on which Emirates operates an A380 are those on which Qantas (no 'u' Wink) operates an A380, but probably not all. Where are you going? Any chance there was an aircraft substitution?

I prefer Qantas planes, but like you I'd prefer an A380.

The flight numbers will tell you. Code shares with qantas are

Ba for British airways
Qf for qantas
Ek for emirates

When booking online you will be able to select the flights you want. For instance I hate qantas. Prefer BA into Singapore so when I look on BA for flights to Australia BA and QF will come up to Singspore and I pick BA.
