Question about luggage and airport, help

Anyone ever took their luggage to be all wrapped up in thick 'clean film' at the airports? Do you know if they do it at Heathrow and how much roughly?

Also if your luggage gets lost, you receive it eventually, or can get lost forever?

Yes this service is offered at Heathrow and costs £9 per item.
www.bagwrap.com is the service that does this.

I have been flying now for many years and the case has only not arrived one time. It turned up at the hotel three days later.

I always write down details of name, address and flight number on a piece of paper to put on top of the clothes after the case has been packed. This further enables the baggage handlers to match bag with owner.

Always got my luggage the only time we needed to wrap it was flying to South Africa and out. Everywhere else fine. Get some sort of colourful strap so it is easy to identify. This helps on the carousel too and stops people picking up the wrong bag.

I am going to S.America and I know wrapping the bag is a mustt.
Thanks

I would have though departing S America would be the time to get your bag wrapped.
What about some cable ties through the zip holes. That's what we normally do.
