Quick Art before Matilda

Hello to All

I'm a nana, brand new to (the brilliant!) Mum's Net.

I would like to take my 7 year old granddaughter to see a quick Picasso, Chagal, Klimt - any piece of art that might wow a young girl and perhaps spark a life-long interest.

The main point is 'quick'. She hates walking and is always having the 'most boring day ever' :-)

If anyone could recommend something we could pop in to on our way to Matilda in London, I'd be very grateful.

Many thanks

Dominique

National Gallery in Trafalgar Square?

You can pick up a plan of the gallery which lists the key pieces so can go straight to them.

Say Van Gogh Sunflowers or some of Monets Waterlillies? There are also some very impressive large paintings. Maybe a Turner- the fighting Temeraire or the really detailed Caravagios?

Van Gogh's sunflowers - perfect. She'll love them. Thanks a million.

Agree National Gallery. They have kits for children which involve finding paintings etc (and all free) which are worth picking up from reception desk. The fantastic thing about National Gallery is that it is free so you can stay as long as your granddaughter wishes...they also have a good cafe!
