An idiotic passport enquiry

I have a wee query and the passport office is closed so I hoped I might be able to tap into the wisdom of Mumsnet...

I need to get three passports. A second passport for DS1 and two first passports for my infant DTs.

My passport is in my maiden name as I have not been away since I got married so I haven't changed it. DS1 has my maiden name on his birth certificate but the DTs have my new married name on their birth certificates. With that in mind, would I need to get a new passport in order to get passports for my DTs?

TIA

I don't think so. My DD's birth certificate has my married name and my maiden name on the long version. My passport is still in my maiden name.

If you go away without your DH take a photocopy of the DT's birth certificate though!

Excellent, thank you.I use my maiden name for professional purposes so I've not got round to changing anything. It's 'only' been two years...!

the name on your passport is completely unconnected to their name. (Obviously make sure the bookings have the correct surnames)

if you are planning a name change, don't do it on your passport until it expires - waste of £70 otherwise.
