If you are driving south from Calais via Rouen, pls note the bridge is SHUT

We are in Rouen Sud at the Novotel. Re. The bridge being shut, the signs for the diversion are really easy to miss. Basically you need to come off the A28 in the direction of Dieppe. I just about spotted it as I had my eyes peeled. But Dh decided he did not believe me and kept going. Our sat nav picked up the closed bridge just as we arrived at it. I looked smug whilst Dh navigated the horrendous jam of traffic. I do not recommend this as a course of action.

Was there any indication on how long it was going to be shut for?

It's going to be shut until mid 2014

it's been shut for quite a few months, I think it was a fire that has meant the bridge needs to be rebuilt - your sat nav was spot on taking you towards Dieppe and if you download your route from Mappy, the AA or viaMichelin there are clear maps to help you.

We only discovered this driving north to Calais, tbh the diversion only took a few extra mins, and our sat nav helped us eventually! We relied at first on following other cars with the GB badge on and hoped for the best!
