Hello,

I'm new here :)

We have a 21-month-old who is a bit, erm, 'feisty', and have thus far avoided going on holiday with him as the logistics always seem too much for my brain to handle. However, we're both pretty much burned out and need a change of scenery. Plus our childminder's away for a week each in Sept and Oct so we may as well be getting away.

I've had a look at the baby friendly boltholes site and there's nothing much on there that looks easily accessible without a car. Neither of us drives so we can't rent one either. Has anyone any ideas on places we could go, either in the UK or Europe (but no longer than 2/3 hours' flight)? Somewhere near beaches but also near ameneties would be ideal... Or am I asking too much?! (Budget is a bit rubbish too, just to add that into the mix...)

Thanks!

Should also have said that my husband is very pushed on the Isle of Wight. But it doesn't look that easy by public transport.

How about broadstairs on the Kent coast? V easy on the fast train service from st pancras, lovely beaches, small town so easy to walk around or buses/trains if you want to go to other places. Easy to find an apartment to rent which will supply travel cot etc that's what we did.
