I live in North America and am planning to come to the UK to visit family next July. I would like to spend a week or two with my parents before taking my 12 year old daughter to France. she speaks French and both of us would like to visit Paris. I would also like to spend time either visiting the countryside/ Alps/Provence/ Med. there as well. I do not want to drive, so was looking for options to get to Paris for a few days, then on to another tourist destination for around a week. Do you have any suggestions of what might work?

Eurostar then TGV ? Annecy is a nice lake/alp combo or Geneva/Chamonix, all accessible by train or further South to the Riviera

and Northern France will be in full WW1 commemoration so you could take in a few battlefields or avoid , depending on your/her level of interest

Eurostar sounds like a good option! Thanks.
