visiting New York City with 10month old

We're thinking of stopping in New York for a few days in October on the way back from visiting family elsewhere in the States. Any survival tips? Accommodation, getting around (cabs, buses...), many thanks

Don't rely on high chairs- I went when DD was 10 months old with a babybjorn and ended up buying an umbrella pushchair there as there was nowhere to put her down! This was 15 years a ago- so perhaps things have changed.
Delis were great for ordering small portions. It was very hot, so we took lots of air conditioned bused- it won't be a problem in October, but there are some brilliant sightseeing routes. I took her over to Ellis Island- great day out on the boat and easy to navigate with a pushchair b
