Dubai stopover

Hi,
We have a 10 hour stopover in Dubai (2 x adults and 3 x kids) and I was wondering what other people have done.
I got quoted 300+ for 2 rooms which I think is really expensive considering we will only use them for maybe 8 hours.
But I dont fancy minding 3 young kids in an airport for all that time either.
If anyone has done this & has suggestions I'd really appreciate it !
Thanks

You haven't mentioned the date you will be in Dubai and much depends on how booked up hotels are on the day of the stopover.

But you can almost certainly do better than 300 pounds for 2 rooms, especially at this time of year when people tend to avoid Dubai because of the high temperature and the Ramadan restrictions.

A quick search on Bookings.com, using the arbitrary dates of 20/21 July, found a string of hotel options at under £80 for 2 rooms. You should look for options in the Deira or Bur Dubai districts which are very close to the airport.

Good luck!

Dubai airport is fascinating for people watching. Maybe not for 10 hours with 3 kids though...

Hi,
yes its in August - so about 40 degrees.
I think its best to not leave the airport at all - so was looking st the rooms they have in the terminal - hence the 300 pounds!
I was wondering if anyone just hung out in the lounges....

There is a premier inn at the airport that has a roof top pool. Great reviews on trip advisor and pretty cheap. Have a look. I have booked that in the past. Usually end up there for an odd 20 hours or so which needs to book 2 night stay but it is usually cheap enough to do that.
