Child booster seats in Germany and Austria?

I'm confused! I'm reading conflicting advice as regards booster seats for Germany and Austria. My children are 8 yrs old and 131cm and 10yrs old and 144cm. Can anyone tell me if I need to take booster seats for them? Many thanks.

Not sure about Germany, but they'll both need booster seats in Austria - children under 14 need a booster seat unless they're over 150 cm.

After doing some googling, it appears that children under 12 and/or under 150 cm need a booster seat in Germany as well.
