Weekend away 19-21 July - childfree

Why can't I find anywhere in England that's nice, available and not too too pricey? I know I'm fussy but just want a nice weekend away with DP with no children. Ideally somewhere a little different or nice pub/hotel in countryside or in city somewhere like (but not necessarily) Brighton so we could go out in the evening and walk back to the hotel. Any recommendations?

Can you go a week earlier? That is the start of the school holidays round here, which will bump up the price.

because whostole it is the first week of school summer hols and therefore everywhere is either booked and/or more expensive. wherever you go there will be children. what about somewhere like Bath?
