Disney Cars Land California

Anybody been? DS (5) loves Cars and I'd like to take him while he's still at an age to get excited about such things Grin

Has anyone any tips on the best way to do it. Straight through travel agent? Independently online? Package with hotel or find decent hotel ourselves etc etc etc.

Also, when's the best time to go?

Thanks for any info anyone can give Smile

Arggghhh! Just tried looking and it seems so complicated! I can't even figure out how to get there. It's in Disney Land California Adventure Park but when I'm trying to look on Disney-booking-esque sites, that option doesn't appear??

Disneyland California Adventure is in Anaheim in California. Its actually opposite Disneyland (its all pedestrianized so no roads to cross between these theme parks).

You would need to fly to Los Angeles.

We've been- it's great!

Amy time of year will be fine- SoCal weather pretty consistent year round. We went in August and it was glorious.

I would do it independently. Have a look at sites like VRBO or Homeaway for really well priced rentals in Anaheim or at places like Seal Beach or Huntington Beach nearby.

Flights will be your biggest expense and it is loooong and jetlag quite bad for the first couple of days

As for the park itself you don't need to prebook and your ticket will take you into magic kingdom and California Adventure for as many days as you purchase. We queued for nearly 2 hrs for the Cars ride but it was the week after it opened! It was worth it though- fast passes are available but go within about 20 mins of the park opening! The rest of the park is great and some good rides for littler ones. We didn't go in magic kingdom as had already done that in Florida so can't comment, but the entrance is literally across a plaza from California Adventure so easy to go between the 2

If you did not fancy using a website holiday rental there is decent accommodation in the Anaheim area and many of these hotels run shuttle buses to Disneyland.

Flights to LAX will be the biggest expense. Anaheim is about 60-90 minutes south of this airport.
