Where to buy first hiking boots / shoes for pre-schoolers?

Hi - last minute panic packing for a holiday in the alps here. We hope to take the DCs for some basic hiking trips. Nothing too ambitious but I think we need some walking shoes/boots to offer a bit more support than their sneakers.

I can't seem to find much in infant size 6.5 - 7.5. Any good websites or retail tips out there?

(I found littletrekkers.co.uk but they seem to have a size gap around that level.)

You could try Decathlon too

I think they'd probably be fine in trainers or similar. Anything as long they are comfy.

We got size 8 walking boots online from Cunninghams/Jack Wolfskin. Easy to fit as you take the insole out and see if the foot reaches the happy face or not. They come up small I think we they now fit DD who is not yet in a size 8 shoe.

Sometimes clarks also have a goretex lined boys boot - depends if waterproofing is key or not.

Field and Trek also do small sizes online.

You guys are brilliant. Mumsnet is SOOO much better than Google. I don't know why I bother wasting my time these days. Half an hour on Google = dead end. 15 mins on MN = result. I know which one makes better use of my lunch time. Grin
